The short version
- Dealt Party is a party game. Play it, enjoy it, don't resell it or pull it apart.
- Packs are bought once and kept. Party Plus renews until you cancel it in your store account.
- Some content is for over 18s only, and it is your table's job to keep it that way.
- Dares are suggestions, not instructions. Use your judgement and look after each other.
1. This agreement
By downloading or using Dealt Party you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the app. Dealt Party is made by Dealt, a small independent app maker in the United Kingdom.
Apps downloaded from the App Store are additionally covered by Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement. Where that agreement and these terms disagree about an App Store download, Apple's terms win.
2. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Dealt Party on devices you own or control, for your own entertainment. You may not sell, rent, sub-licence or redistribute the app or its cards; copy or reproduce the card decks as a product of your own; reverse-engineer or decompile the app, except so far as the law says you may; or use the app's content to train a machine-learning model.
The Dealt name, the logo, the artwork and all of the cards are ours and stay ours. Cards you write yourself stay yours.
3. Packs, Party Plus and payment
Expansion packs are one-off purchases: buy one and it is unlocked on any device signed in to the same store account. Party Plus is a subscription giving access to every pack, now and in future, plus unlimited decks of your own.
All payments are taken by Apple or Google under their terms, not by us. Party Plus renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it, and it must be cancelled through your store account at least 24 hours before the period ends. New subscribers get seven free days, once, on whichever plan they start with; cancelling inside the free days costs nothing. Full instructions are on our support page.
Prices shown in the app are set by the store for your country and may change. If we change a subscription price, the store will tell you before it takes effect and you can cancel. Refunds are handled by the store — we cannot issue them ourselves.
Your statutory rights as a consumer in the UK and EU are not affected by anything in these terms. Note that by downloading digital content immediately you may lose the usual 14-day right to cancel, as the store will have explained at the time.
4. Content, age and the table
Dealt Party contains humour aimed at adults. The optional After dark and After dark extreme packs contain explicit sexual references and strong language, and are for over 18s only. The app asks for confirmation that everyone present is over 18 before dealing any adult card, and that confirmation is yours to give honestly.
Cards, dares and forfeits are suggestions for a game, not instructions. Anyone may pass on any card at any time. Never do anything illegal, dangerous, or that touches another person without their clear agreement. If a card asks you to do something you are not happy with, skip it — that is what the skip is for.
Nothing in the app tells anyone to drink. Drinking rules are an optional setting for a table of adults, and if you use them, drink responsibly and within the law where you are.
5. Cards you write
You are responsible for cards you write yourself. Do not write anything unlawful, hateful, or aimed at harassing a particular person. If you play one of your own decks in party mode, its cards are sent to our server and shown to everyone in the room — see the privacy policy.
We do not review, moderate or store your decks unless they pass through party mode, and there they are deleted with the room.
6. Party mode
Party mode is provided free and as-is. It needs an internet connection, rooms hold up to twelve phones, and a room is deleted twelve hours after the last person touches it. We do not guarantee that a game in progress will survive a dropped connection, a closed app or a server restart, and we may change or withdraw the feature.
Do not use party mode to send abusive content to other players, to attempt to disrupt the service, or to access rooms you have not been invited to.
7. Availability and changes
We add games, cards and features, and occasionally take things away. We may update the app, change what a pack contains, or stop supporting older devices or operating systems. We try not to remove anything you have paid for; if we ever have to, we will say why.
8. Liability
Dealt Party is supplied as-is, for entertainment. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for anything that happens as a result of acting on a card, or for loss of data held only on your device.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If we are found liable despite the above, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
9. Apple and Google
Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and have no responsibility for the app. Apple has no obligation to provide support for it. If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
10. Ending this agreement
You can end it at any time by deleting the app. We may end it if you break these terms. Purchases already made through a store remain subject to that store's own policies.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
